Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, is a 1999 Disney Channel Original Movie. It was directed by Kenneth Johnson and based on the book of the same name written by Roger Bollen and Marilyn Sadler.
Zenon is named after the chemical element "Xenon" which means "stranger" in Greek.[1]

Zenon Kar, 13, lives in a space station with her family and friends in the year 2049. Her antics often get the space station's administrators in fits and on one such occasion, her report of a chance encounter with the assistant to the station's owner and a suspicion of illegal activity get her confined to Earth when she isn't believed.
Zenon's troubles become much worse on Earth. Classmates at her new school ostracize her due to a different style of life; the assistant chases her believing she has information valuable to his boss; and of course, a crush on Gregory, who saved her in a Physical Education class.
Zenon becomes involved in a race against time to save her beloved space station from shutdown at the hands of its owner.
