Wanted: Dead and Alive is a 2008 Bollywood film starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia in lead roles. The film is directed by Prabhu Deva. It is a remake of Telugu Blockbuster Pokiri staring Mahesh Babu and Ileana D'Cruz. Incidently, Director Prabhu Deva had remade the Telugu film into Tamil as Pokkiri staring Joseph Vijay and Asin.

Producer Boney Kapoor had bought the remake rights and signed on Prabhu Deva for Director and Choreographer. Originally, Asin was slated to reprise her female lead from the Tamil version but due to her dates booked for Kamal's Dasavatharam and Aamir Khan's Ghajini, she dropped out the project. Finally, Boney Kapoor signed on Ayesha Takia for female lead as he was applauded by her performance in Dor. Filming had begun on July 25th 2007.
