WCI Communities, Inc. , named America's Best Builder in 2004 by the National Association of Home Builders and Builder Magazine, has been creating amenity-rich, master-planned lifestyle communities for more than 60 years. The company offers traditional and tower home choices with prices from the high-$100,000s to more than $10 million and features a wide array of recreational amenities in its communities. In addition to being a luxury homebuilder, WCI provides design, construction, financing, land purchases, marketing, and community management. WCI is based in Bonita Springs, Florida with regional offices in New York and Virginia. WCI currently owns and controls developable land on which the company plans to build traditional homes and tower residences.

WCI traces its roots back to 1946 as Coral Ridge Properties which then evolved into a division of the old Westinghouse Electric Corp. In 2002, WCI Communities, Inc. issued an Initial Public Offering and became a publicly-traded company on the New York Stock Exchange, trading under the symbol: WCI. WCI's current (2007) Chief Executive Officer and President is Jerry L. Starkey. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn became Chairman of WCI in August 2007.

WCI communities feature approximately 600 holes of golf and 1,000 boat slips as well as country club, tennis, spa and recreational facilities. In addition to its Prudential Florida WCI Realty Division, mortgage, and title businesses, WCI operates many of the clubhouses, golf courses, restaurants, and marinas in the more than 30 communities it manages.

The National Association of Home Builders and Builder Magazine named WCI "America's Best Builder" in 2004.^[1]

In addition, WCI offers communities and neighborhoods in the Mid-Atlantic United States near the D.C. area including Foster’s Run, Greene Mill Preserve, Kensington Parc, Long Acres, Oak Creek Club, Occoquan Reach, Poplar Parc, The Club on Quincy, and The Plaza Residences at Columbia Town Center.

In January 2007, the company was featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Together with volunteers, sub-contractors, local businesses, and Tampa Bay area residents, WCI rebuilt a home in 96 hours for the Tate Family on Davis Island. The family had lost their home in a tragic plane crash.
