Volquin

Volquin (Wolquin, Folkvin, Volkewin) was the Master of the Livonian Brothers of the Sword from 1209 to 1236.

Originally from what is now Saxony-Anhalt, Volquin led the Order in a crusade in Livonia against the Estonians, Latvians, and Lithuanians. Volquin was killed by Lithuanians in the Battle of Saule (the Battle of Šiauliai) in 1236.
