[edit] Arrival

Violet first appeared on 8 October 2004, as a barmaid in the Rovers Return and is a former pupil of Ken Barlow when he was a teacher at Weatherfield Comprehensive and on occasions calls him 'Sir'. Violet befriended teenager Katy Harris and remains good friends with Sean Tully, whom she knew before moving to Coronation Street.

[edit] Relationship with Jason Grimshaw

Violet entered a relationship with Jason Grimshaw. Jason's mother, Eileen Grimshaw found Violet a pleasant young woman, and enjoyed living with her. The relationship broke up twice, firstly when Violet was seduced by Charlie Stubbs, and later when Jason had an affair with Sarah Platt.

[edit] Relationship with Jamie Baldwin

Violet later turned down an unexpected proposal from Jason, and began dating Jamie Baldwin. After moving in with Jamie she began to have her doubts about his loyalties in September 2006, with him spending more time with Sean than her. She believed Jamie was interested in Sean, and asked Sean to find out if Jamie was gay. Sean later found out that Jamie was in love with his step-mum, Frankie Baldwin, but did not tell Violet this. The relationship later finished, without Violet knowing of Jamie's affair.

[edit] Ectopic pregnancy

On 11 December 2006, Violet found out that she was pregnant with Jamie's baby. Two days later, when Violet told Jamie of the pregnancy, he told her about his affair with Frankie much to Violet's disgust. Violet was upset further when she discovered that long-standing friend, Sean, had known of Jamie's feelings to his stepmother all along. Violet suffered an ectopic pregnancy and had to have emergency surgery to remove the tube and the baby. She was told that she had a reduced chance of conceiving.

[edit] Pregnancy with Sean

While drunk, Violet and Sean Tully made a pact- if they were both single and childless by 30, they would have a child together. Violet pondered over this, and agreed to try for a child together straight away, due to Violet's reduced fertility. In July 2007, Violet found she was pregnant with Sean's baby. Violet found out that the pregnancy test was positive, she told Sean Tully and he was thrilled that she was going to be a mother. Violet made him keep it just between the two of them for the first 12 weeks of her pregnancy. Sean told Jamie that he was going to be a father and that Violet is pregnant. Violet was angry and upset with Sean when she found out that he told Jamie Baldwin about it and also when Jamie criticised her. As of October 2007, she is pregnant with a baby boy which Sean tricked boyfriend and their sonographer Marcus into telling him after he wanted to know the sex of the baby whilst Violet didn't. He told both Jason and Jamie about Violet being pregnant with a boy and it wasn't long before Jason accidentally revealed in front of Violet the sex of the baby. Violet was furious with Sean for betraying her like that and making her feel worthless. It soon occurs to Sean that Violet is planning to bring up their baby without him, and when he confronts her out being pushed out, she replied in saying that she sees him only as the doner, and not as the father. Upset, she warns Violet that he'll take legal action, and she walks out in a rage. Violet and Sean later apologize to one another and the friendship is rekindled.

[edit] Jamie, Violet and the Baby

After Jamie took Violet to his mum Carol Baldwin's wedding there seemed to be an attraction between them when he hugged Violet after the wedding. They also didn't mind being mistaken as a couple. During one night out, Jamie, Steve and Lloyd were going to go to a 'singles' bar. Jamie tried to stay as long as possible with Violet at the pub. When the taxi finally came, Jamie and Violet kissed each other goodnight. That was the start of a relationship in which they agreed to bring Violets baby up together.

[edit] Arrival of Violet's Sister

Lauren arrives in Weatherfield after spending time abroad in Ayia Napa and immediately sets her sights on the eye-candy of the Street. Violet isn't happy to see her and struggles to tell her about her pregnancy situation. Violet lied to Jamie about the money Sean gave to Violet for a deposit on the flat saying that Lauren gave it to her instead.

[edit] Departure

It was confirmed that Violet would leave Coronation Street in 2008, and that Jamie, her boyfriend, would leave with her. [1]
