Vidhu Vinod Chopra born on September 5, is an academy award- nominated Indian producer and filmmaker. He is also the head of Vinod Chopra Productions. He is particularly known for producing the Munna Bhai films.

Chopra born on September 5, was raised in Srinagar, Kashmir, India and studied direction at the Film and Television Institute of India. He married famous writer Anupama Chopra.

His film An Encounter with Faces was nominated for an Oscar in the short, non-fiction film category in 1979.

He has since been involved with a number of critically acclaimed films including Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, the Munna Bhai films, Parineeta and the recently released film, Eklavya: The Royal Guard.

He frequently works with the screenwriter Abhijat Joshi and filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Pradeep Sarkar.
