The United States Basketball League OTCBB: USBL is a professional men's spring basketball league. The league was formed in 1985 and has been in continuous operation every year except 1989. One source thought the league might fold after the 2007 season.[1]

The 2007 USBL Champions were crowned after the title game on July 1, 2007. The winner: The Kansas Cagerz.

The USBL has announced that they will sit out the 2008 season and consider their options for the future.[2]

[edit] Current Teams

Originally the USBL began the 2007 season with ten teams in two five-team divisions, but the failure of the New Jersey Meteors, Delaware Stars and Jackson Wildcats (and the initial failure and later reinstatement of the Long Island PrimeTime), the league was realigned in mid-season into a single division.
