[edit] Music video
The star of the video is the same little boy from the original "The Unforgiven" video, in which he was about 7 years younger.[citation needed]
[edit] Lyrics
When asked the song's meaning by a fan, Hetfield replied, "Forgiving no one and ending up alone." [1] The lyrics also refer frequently to a "she", shown in this verse:
"...She loves me not, she loves me still,
But she'll never love again.
She lay beside me, but she'll be there when I'm gone.
Black heart scarring darker still, but she'll be there when I'm gone
Yes, she'll be there when I'm gone,
Dead sure she'll be there..."
