It is home to many cities including Alice, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Rockport, Kingsville, Port Lavaca, Galveston, Victoria, and Houston. The area is not to be confused with the barrier islands of Texas. The Coastal Bend only includes the land on the inlet areas along the bays and Laguna Madre.
