Tender may mean:

In finance: A process by which one can seek prices and terms for a particular project (such as a construction job) to be carried out under a contract. The sealed offers themselves, including company information, a project outline, and a price quote, are known as tenders or bids. See also: Tenders, reverse auction, Contract A and RFQ.

• Legal tender, a term for currency
• tender offer, used to propose a buyout of a public company
• tenders or Tender, can also be referred to as Public Procurement, a way in which Bodies governed by Public Law (such as Local Authorities, schools, hospitals, utilities...) buy what they need for their activities. Tenders are governed by EU as well as the various countries legislation.

In transportation:

• Tender locomotive, a type of railroad car hauled immediately after the locomotive, used to carry fuel and water
• The Israeli name for a pickup truck
• A water tender or similar utility vehicle carrying firefighting or emergency response apparatus
• One of several types of boat or ship, all sharing the general function of servicing another type of air or sea vessel:
  • Buoy Tender, used to maintain Aids to Navigation (Aton) including buoys.
  • lighthouse tender, used to tend lighthouses and, later, buoys
