T.P Balagopalan M.A. is a film portraying Mohanlal's earlier acting career. It was released in 1986 and directed by Satyan Anthikad .
His character Balagopalan In this plays a middle class salaried person who wants to build himself also taking care of other family members.He has a sister who marriage reponsibility is with him.Also KPAC lalitha who plays his sister is making him spend money for her childrens.Then he finds Shobana whom he finds attractive and tries to impress her by giving cash to her family as they are financially backward due to some legal land problems.In the meantime he sells his own land which was his dream for supporting shobana's family.Later on he looses his job due to labour strike and he has nothing to do then.Maniyanpillai Raju who s best friend marries his sister and he and his grandmother becomes alone.Sreenivasan plays a lawyer in this film and wins the legal case against Shobana's family.They become rich and plans a wedding with him and mohanlal is being avoided.Shobana who loves Mohanlal then gets along with him moves to his village forever, this film describes the difficulties faced by a middle class family. The film portrays the story with little humour.
