Some Kind of Monster is an EP by American thrash metal band Metallica, released in 2004. (See 2004 in music). This EP was released along with the Some Kind of Monster documentary. A special edition of this EP included a Some Kind of Monster T-shirt. The live b-sides are all taken from the previous single release The Unnamed Feeling EP.

The title track was extracted from the band's 2003 album St. Anger.

During this recording of Ride the Lighting, Hetfield shouted "Death in the air, strapped to the electric chair, I forgot the fucking words!"

He seems to also forget some of the words to "Motorbreath," not counting the extra words added in during the chorus. In fact, he breathes a sigh of relief once he reaches it.

All the live tracks that appear on the album were recorded on June 11, 2003 in Paris, France, during one of the three club shows performed on the hottest day in French History.
