Shakti: The Power (Devanagari: शक्ती, Nastaliq: شکتی, translation: "Energy" or "Power") is a 2002 Bollywood remake of Telugu film Anthapuram. The film stars Karisma Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Sanjay Kapoor in the main roles. Shahrukh Khan has an extended appearance, while Aishwarya Rai has special appearance in an Item number.

[edit] Plot Summary
Shekhar (Sanjay Kapoor) and Nandini (Karisma Kapoor) are friends and living in Canada with their two uncles. Shekhar proposes to Nandini and she says yes and now they are a happy couple with a beautiful baby son named Raja. They all live a happy life until one day Shekhar hears a breaking news of violence in India he goes to India to his family with his wife and son and Nandini is shocked to see that Shekhar has a family but more shocked to see that its a family of rivals to the gangsters and his father Narasimha (Nana Patekar) has many enemies. Later Shekhar is going to a meeting on his father's behalf and tragedy strikes when Shekhar and his men are attacked and killed. Then Nandini feels insecure and decides to leave India with her son and leaving her husband's body but Narasimha refuses and takes away Raja. But as she is desperate to leave this place she goes on a difficult journey to escape India and return to her home in Canada with the help of Shekhar's mother and sister but when she leaves the house Narasimha sends his men to get them. On their way Nandini and Raja meet drifter Jaisingh(Shahrukh Khan) who helps them reach a train to the airport but dies while battling Narsimha's men. Back at Narasimha's house Narasimha's wife revolts against Narsimha telling him to put a stop to the bloodshed and let Nandini leave. Later when Nandini and Raja are about to go to the plane Narasimha comes and bids them goodbye and they both flew back to Canada.
