Salmo Linnaeus, 1758, is a genus of fish in the salmon family (Salmonidae) that includes many familiar species of salmon and trout. The type species is the Atlantic salmon, S. salar. (For a list of Pacific salmon species, see the genus Onchorhynchus).

The generic name Salmo derives from the Latin salmō (salmon).
