SMS Emden

Two German ships has been named SMS Emden after the town of Emden on the Ems River:
- SMS Emden (1906), a Dresden-class light cruiser, commissioned in 1909, sank or captured nearly thirty Allied merchant vessels during World War I, and scuttled after the Battle of Cocos in 1914.
- SMS Emden (1914), a Königsberg-class cruiser that was scuttled at Scapa Flow in 1919.
