Ryan Connor is a fictional character from the ITV1 soap opera Coronation Street, played by Ben Thompson.


Ryan Connor is the son of Michelle Connor and attends Weatherfield High.

In December 2006 he was caught by Norris Cole vandalising the Kabin, spraying the walls of the shop with graffiti. He also sprayed the word 'Noz' on the wall, with a caricature of Norris behind it. Initially, Ryan turned the tables on Norris. But when the truth was revealed, his mother Michelle made him help in the Kabin every night after school for a week.

His mum started dating newcomer Sonny. Steve McDonald, who was also interested in Michelle, offered to drive Ryan over to Sonny's house while she was there having dinner. She told Steve that Sonny didn't know about Ryan. When they arrived Ryan went in and Michelle came out and threw her dinner over Steve and told him that Sonny already knew about Ryan and was fine with it. Michelle then told him to stop using Ryan to come between her and Sonny.

After Sonny broke up with Michelle, Ryan went to ask him why. Sonny tried to hide the truth from Ryan. However, Ryan spotted Sean coming out of his bedroom, and, consumed with anger, Ryan went joyriding in Sonny's car but he was soon caught by the police though later released.

[edit] Dean and Paul's Deaths

When he returned to the Street his uncle Paul smacked him across the face. The reason for this was later revealed to be that Paul caused the demise of Ryan's late father, Dean, due to careless driving.

Several months, later Paul died in a car accident after kidnapping Leanne Battersby

At the beginning of December 2007, Ryan was followed many times by a man in a blue Suburu car, he appeared when he was waiting for his school bus, whilst at school and even on the Street.

He became scared and wondered why the man was following him. He told his mother, Michelle, who told boyfriend, Steve and brother Liam, but at first the claims fell on deaf ears.

On December 9, whilst walking along the Street, the blue car pulled up besides him and the driver began to talk to him, using his name. Ryan ran into the Rovers and told his mother and uncle, resulting in Liam to run after the stalker, but he managed to escape. He again reappeared on December 17, but thanks to cab driver Lloyd, was followed to a house in the suburbs where the Connors all arrived. Minutes later the mysterious man let them in. He was explaining the story that he believed to be true, explaining that he believed Ryan to be his real son and Alex to be Michelle's after a baby mix-up at the hospital.
