Rock Concert at Poconos raceway, July 8, 1972
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Officially called "Concert Ten," the rock concert at Pocono International Raceway in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on July 8 and 9 of 1972, attracted 300,000 people. It was comparable in many ways to the Woodstock festival of 1969, although it did not become famous. Similarly to that concert, big-name rock bands played, it rained much of the time, the traffic was jammed for miles, and psychedelic drugs were commonplace.
The following bands appeared at Concert Ten:
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
Black Sabbath
Faces with Rod Stewart
Humble Pie
Badfinger (who did not actually play)
Cactus
Edgar Winter
J. Geils Band
Bull Angus
Mother Night
Groundhogs
Claire Hamil
Ramatam (with Mitch Mitchell)
Three Dog Night
