Rick Hunolt is an American heavy metal guitarist who is best known for being the long time guitarist in thrash metal band Exodus. He joined the band in 1983, replacing Kirk Hammett when he left to join Metallica. He subsequently performed on all their albums in the 80's and 90's, sharing leads with original member Gary Holt. He rejoined the band in 2004 for the Tempo of the Damned album, but left the band shortly afterwards in order to spend more time with his apparently unstable family, although Holt claims that Hunolt also has a drug problem.
Rick Hunolt used Ibanez and Jackson guitars in the 80's and 90's. He was taught by famed guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, which is apparent in that Hunolt bears similarities to Satriani in his playing style.
