The Republic of Zamboanga was a short-lived revolutionary republic, founded after the collapse of Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines. The republic began on on May 18, 1899, with the surrender of Fort Pilar (Real Fuerza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragoza) to the Revolutionary Government of Zamboanga, and ended on November 16, 1899, with the surrender of the fort to Captain Pratt and the 23rd US Infantry. ^{[1] [2]}
