Rekhta

Rekhta (Urdū/Persian: ریختہ, Hindī: रेख़्ता rekhtā; Persian for mixed) is the highly Persianized form of Urdū, a language that combines Arabic, Persian, and Hindī.[1] From the late 17th century till the closing decades of the 18th century, the term also referred to the Urdu-Hindustani language. This term was largely supplanted by the name "Hindustani" and later Urdu (although it continued to be used sporadically until the late 19th century).[2]
