Rehman (June 23, 1923 - 1979) was an Indian film actor whose career spanned from the late 1940s through to the late 1970s. He was integral part of the Guru Dutt team.

Rehman was an actor in Hindi and Indian films. He was born on June 23, 1923 in Lahore, he did his college at Robertson college Jabalpur and joined the Indian Air Force as a pilot before turning to films.He is known in Indian Film Industry- Bollywood to play rather sophisticated characters.

Career in movies was an accident. He needed a job and got one as third assistant to a director Vishram Bedekar in 1944. Acting happened as a role needed someone in a Pashtun turban and Rehman was the only one who could tie one.

Initially he played all roles including lead roles but with time the roles he got were mainly those with a shade of grey.

Chaudhvin Ka Chand and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam and Waqt were some of his memorable roles, the first two with Guru Dutt. He was a regular in Guru Dutt films ( Pyaasa) as they were friends while trying for a break into films.

In 1977, he suffered three heart attacks after which he got throat cancer and died after a prolonged and painful illness in 1979.
