[edit] Charlton Athletic
He joined Charlton as a full-back, but then-manager Alan Curbishley moved him into midfield after concerns about his defensive abilities. He has much experience playing at the top level, however, occasional lapses in concentration have often resulted in his team conceding goals.
Kishishev has been a pretty constant presence in the Charlton midfield, never found wanting for determination and effort. Kishishev prides himself on his stamina and often tops the team on the number of kilometres he runs during games, as shown by the Pro-Zone statistics system.
Despite being known as a work horse in the Charlton midfield he is also known for his own 'flip-flap', which he used to great effect against Liverpool in the build up to Charlton's second goal of their 2-0 win at the Valley in 2006.
[edit] Leeds United
On 2nd March 2007, Kishishev joined Leeds United on loan in the latter part of the 2006-07 season to help with their relegation battle.[1] He made 18 appearances for manager Alan Pardew's side that season but was not featured since the 1-0 win over Portsmouth on 20 January. His presence in the team has coincided with Leeds United's best run of results of the season and he has turned in some very hardworking performances. Many Leeds fans have praised him for his effort and determination.
Kishishev's loan deal was due to expire at the end of that month, but the club managed to extend it until the end of the season. Charlton though insisted on a 24-hour call back on the player in case they needed him for their own relegation battle.
[edit] Leicester City
Kishishev was released by Charlton at the end of the season, and after pondering contract offers from various unnamed clubs one believed to be from Leeds, signed a two year deal with Leicester City on June 19 2007.[2]
On the 23rd October 2007 he re-joined Leeds with a one month loan contract, however a training ground injury prevented the versatile midfielder from making a single appearance during that period. The midfielder was all set to return to his parent club before Leeds extended his loan until the end of January. He has yet to find the form that he had last season for Leeds yet.[3].
[edit] International
Kishishev was part of the Bulgarian national team at Euro 96 and the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He is currently helping his country qualify for Euro 2008.
