Rachel Luttrell (born 19 January 1971) is an actress famous for appearing as Veronica Beck in the CBC series Street Legal and later appeared in guest roles on ER, Charmed, Forever Knight and other television series. She currently plays Teyla Emmagan, an Athosian warrior-leader on Stargate Atlantis.

Luttrell was born in Lushoto, Tanzania, to a French father and Tanzanian mother, and was raised in Canada. Her family was very musical; her father, a former member of the critically acclaimed Mendelsohn Choir, trained Luttrell's soprano voice. She studied ballet at the prestigious Russian Academy of Classical Ballet School and also studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Her professional stage debut began with the Toronto première production of Miss Saigon.

In June 2007, the producers of "Stargate Atlantis" confirmed that Luttrell and her husband, Loyd Bateman, were expecting their first child. The pregnancy was written into the storyline.[1] Luttrell gave birth to a boy named Caden Dar in October 2007.[2]
