Puisi Tak Terkuburkan (The Poet) is a 2000 award winning Indonesian documentary film drama directed by Garin Nugroho in black and white. At the 2001 Singapore International Film Festival the film won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Silver Screen Award for Best Asian Actor which went to Ibrahim Kadir who, a poet played himself. It was also nominated for the Silver Screen Award Best Asian Feature Film. Nugroho also won the Silver Leopard Video Award at the Locarno International Film Festival.
The film is noted for its innovative and emotionally dynamic use of a musical counterpoint of solo and choral voices to unfold a tale of shocking social tragedy portrayed from an intimate viewpoint.
