Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series

Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series is awarded to one television episode each year at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Often regarded as the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an individual episode of television, the nominees and winners often reflect outstanding achievement in character, emotion, and storytelling. On many occasions, excellent television dramas that are looked over in the Outstanding Drama Series category get their name etched in award history for their nomination is this prized category.
