The Population Reference Bureau is a non-governmental organization in the United States, founded in 1929 by Guy Irving Burch, with support of Raymond Pearl. It provides information about demography.
PRB focuses on four core themes: reproductive health and fertility, children and families, population and the environment, and population futures (which includes aging, inequality, poverty, migration, urbanization, and gender).
Their annual World Population Data Sheet is a double-sided wallchart that presents data from most countries on important population points such as total population, fertility rates, infant mortality rates, HIV/AIDS prevalence, contraceptive use.
Their annual KIDS COUNT Data Book is produced with the Annie E. Casey Foundation and reports on the well-being of U.S. children and families. The Data Book has helped promote the passage of several U.S. policies, including the State Children's Health Insurance Program.
PRB's online "DataFinder"[1] allows users to search a database of "136 population, health, and environment variables for more than 220 countries, 28 world regions and sub-regions, and the world as a whole."
