Paul Franklin Dano (born June 19 1984) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Dwayne in the feature film Little Miss Sunshine, as Howie Blitzer in the independent film L.I.E., as Eli Sunday in Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood and his work in several other, mostly independent, films. He is also active onstage, and has appeared in several Broadway productions including A Christmas Carol, Ragtime, Inherit the Wind, A Month in the Country, and A Thousand Clowns at the Roundabout Theatre. As a side project, he also provides vocals and lead guitar for the band Mook.
Dano was born in Wilton, Connecticut,[1] and resides in New York City. He attends The New School, studying literature. Before that he graduated from Wilton High School in Wilton, Connecticut in 2002.
