Patrick Muldoon (born William Patrick Muldoon III on September 27, 1968 in San Pedro, California) is an American actor.
He was born to an Irish-American father and a Croatian-born mother. He attended Loyola High School, a Jesuit school, and graduated in 1991 from the University of Southern California, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and played football for the USC Trojans.
Muldoon was the first actor to play the role of Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives, a role which he played from 1992 to 1995 (replaced later by Austin Peck). He had a small role as the much hated Jeff Hunter in the popular teen television show "Saved By The Bell" in 1991. His next big role was as the evil Richard Hart on the primetime soap opera, Melrose Place from 1995 to 1996. He previously dated Denise Richards, with whom he co-starred in the sci-fi/thriller Starship Troopers. 1997
He is known as the "breaker upper" in Hollywood for not only breaking up Zack and Kelly, but also Lt. Juan "Johnny" Rico and Fleet Commander Carmen Ibanez.
