Paston, Peterborough

Paston is a small district of Peterborough, situated in the north of the city. The area was mainly built and developed in the 1970s-1980s. The district is mainly residential, with a small commercial complex called Chadburn. This area contains a small food store, a hair dresser, newsagent, pub and bookies. Paston also has an increasingly diverse population including a large Gypsy population. Up to 1,200 homes are planned to be built in Paston as part of the city's £1 billion expansion and regeneration plan.

Demographically, Paston is one of the smaller areas of Peterborough. In the 2001 Census the area had a population of 8,650. Since then, the area has become more ethnicly diverse, with increasing Black, Portuguese and Polish communities.
