[edit] Partita No.3 in E Major
This partita was written by Johann Sebastian Bach for the violin. It consists of the following movements:
- Preludio
- Loure
- Gavotte en Rondeau
- Menuet I
- Menuet II
- Bourrée
- Giga
It takes approximately 20 minutes to be performed.
The most commonly found recordings are usually of the Preludio. The Preludio demands advanced bowings for the players. It carries a quick tempo and consists almost entirely of sixteenth notes.
The "Gavotte en Rondeau" is famous and often heard in TV or radio programs.
