Opinion Research Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCI), based in Princeton, New Jersey, is a demographic, health, and market research company. It was founded in 1938 by Claude Robinson and George Gallup, although Gallup quickly left the firm in 1939. Opinion Research Corp was acquired by InfoUSA on August 4, 2006 for $12 per share in cash.[1]

[edit] Controversy

Opinion Research Corporation's parent company, InfoUSA, is controlled by Vinod Gupta, a noted donor to, fundraiser for, and supporter of Bill and Hillary Clinton.[1] On January 12th, 2007, ORC announced a "formal polling partnership" with CNN. This, combined with existing allegations of bias against CNN, has led critics to question the reliability of CNN polls regarding Hillary Clinton's likely 2008 presidential run.
