[edit] Rhoda's Pop
Martin was the father of Rhoda Morgenstern. He was not as prone to play the guilt card, as his wife, Ida did so often. This allowed him to be closer to Rhoda and her sisters Debbie and Brenda.
When the show Rhoda was on the air, his second daughter was the more well-known and remembered Brenda. (Debbie was only in an episode of Mary Tyler Moore). Nonetheless, he was a good provider and was close to his daughters.
Martin's marriage to Ida suffered when he went off Florida to find himself and pursue a career as a lounge singer. The Rhoda series ended with the couple still separated and their marriage in limbo.
