List of Lost episodes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following is a complete episode list for the serial drama series Lost, which began airing on September 22, 2004. In addition to the twenty-four episodes in season one, a special clip show, Lost: The Journey, aired on April 27, 2005 to put the mysteries of the island and the characters in perspective in the lead-up to the season finale. The second and third seasons included six more clip shows to recap the series. The series ended its third season on May 23, 2007. ABC has announced that Lost would end after its sixth season, with seasons four through six each containing 16 episodes, ending with a total of 117 episodes produced.[1]
The series follows the lives of survivors of a plane crash, after a passenger jet, Oceanic Flight 815, flying from Sydney to Los Angeles crashes on a tropical island in the South Pacific, while they are antagonized by a group of dangerous inhabitants they call the "Others." Each episode typically features action on the island as well as flashbacks to another point in a character's life. The term "Featured character(s)" in this episode list indicates the character or characters that are featured in the secondary storyline of each episode in the series. "Series #" refers to the episode's number in the overall series, whereas "Season #" refers to the episode's number in each particular season.
As of May 23, 2007, 69 episodes of Lost have aired. The first two seasons are available on DVD in Regions 1, 2, 3 and 4.

[edit] Season 1: 2004–2005
Season one aired from September 22, 2004 to May 25, 2005. In addition to the twenty-four regular episodes in season one, a special, "Lost: The Journey", aired on April 27, 2005 to put the mysteries of the island and the characters in perspective in the lead-up to the season finale. In the UK, the two hour season finale was actually split into two episodes, creating an "Exodus: Part 3", even though they both aired on the same night. The original airdates (U.S.) are listed here for each episode.
Season one begins when a plane crash strands the surviving passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 on a seemingly deserted tropical island, forcing the group of strangers to work together to stay alive. However, their survival is threatened by several mysteries, including the contents of a hatch buried in the ground, an unknown entity that roams the jungle, and the motives of the inhabitants known as the "Others". Season one takes place over 44 days.
[edit] Season 2: 2005–2006
Season two aired from September 21, 2005 to May 24, 2006. In addition to the twenty-two regular episodes, three special episodes were aired which provided recaps and insights into the show's mysteries. There were several cast changes in season two. Ian Somerhalder, who played Boone, left the show, while Malcolm David Kelley, who played Walt, only appeared in four episodes. Michelle Rodriguez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Cynthia Watros joined the main cast as Ana Lucia, Mr. Eko, and Libby, respectively. In the UK and Australia, the two hour season finale was actually split into two episodes, creating "Live Together, Die Alone: Part 1" and "Live Together, Die Alone: Part 2", although they both aired on the same night, but in over two weeks in Australia. The original United States and Canadian airdates are listed here for each episode.
Season two introduced several new characters to the series, who include the plane's tail-section survivors and other island inhabitants. More island mythologies and insights into the survivors' pasts are divulged. The existence of the Dharma Initiative and its benefactor, the Hanso Foundation, is established. The truth about the "Others" begins to unfold. Season two takes place over 23 days.
[edit] Season 3: 2006–2007
Season three began airing on October 4, 2006. There were twenty-two episodes aired in two blocks. The first block consisted of six episodes and aired for six consecutive weeks. After a twelve week break, the second block aired, and featured the remaining sixteen episodes. In addition to the twenty-two regular season episodes, two specials were aired. "Lost: A Tale of Survival" aired a week before the premiere, and "The Lost Survivor Guide" aired with episode seven, when the season returned from its twelve week break. The original United States and Canada airdates are listed here for each episode.
Harold Perrineau Jr., Maggie Grace, Michelle Rodriguez, and Cynthia Watros, who played Michael, Shannon, Ana Lucia, and Libby, respectively, left the show after the second season. Michael Emerson, as Benjamin Linus (aka "Henry Gale"), and Henry Ian Cusick, as Desmond, became regular cast members in season three. Elizabeth Mitchell joined the main cast as Juliet, as did Kiele Sanchez and Rodrigo Santoro as previously unseen crash survivors Nikki and Paulo respectively.
Season three continues the story 67 days after the crash. The season begins where the second season left off: three of the crash survivors are held in captivity by the mysterious Others. More backstory on the Others, as well as the Dharma Initiative, is revealed. The survivors face continuous threats from their enemies, and also from their friends. Season three takes place over 26 days.

Season four will begin airing on January 31, 2008 and conclude in Spring 2008. Production began in August 2007 and was prematurely stopped in November 2007 due to the writers strike. The original plan was to air all sixteen episodes in one consecutive block, uninterrupted by repeats.[10] It has been said that ABC will air the 8 completed episodes starting on January 31st, 2008. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Dominic Monaghan, Kiele Sanchez and Rodrigo Santoro, who played Mr. Eko, Charlie, Nikki and Paulo, respectively, left the cast throughout the third season making way for Harold Perrineau to return to the main cast as Michael.[11] Also joining the cast are recurring guest stars Rebecca Mader, Jeremy Davies, Lance Reddick, Ken Leung and Jeff Fahey.[12]
