Leela Naidu

Leela Naidu is an Indian actress who has starred in a number of Hindi films as well as some by Merchant Ivory Productions. Her father was the well known nuclear physicist Ramaiah Naidu from Andhra Pradesh while her mother was of French origin. In 1954 Leela Naidu was the Femina Miss India. She had very short but impressive acting career. Offers were coming her way but she quit movies to marry (and later divorce) poet Dom Moraes, who was her childhood sweetheart.
Vogue named her as one of the ten most beautiful women in the world, along with Gayatri Devi. Became an icon for women's liberation in India after her non-orthodox role with Sunil Dutt in Yeh raaste hain pyar ke.
Her first husband was Tikki Oberoi, the son of Mohan Singh Oberoi, the founder of Oberoi Hotels chain, with whom she had twin daughters,but later divorced and married poet Dom Moraes.
