Grammy Award

The Latin Grammy Awards were launched in 2000 with a telecast aired on CBS. It was the first primarily Spanish language prime-time program carried on an English-language television network. Like the Grammy Awards, the Latin Grammys recognize artistic and technical excellence in the recording arts and sciences by peer vote (the Latin Grammy Awards Process). It has already come to represent the height of achievement in Latin music recording. The 8th Annual Latin Grammy Awards took place on November 8, 2007 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and aired on Univision. Juan Luis Guerra was the night's big winner. He won a record 5 Awards including Album of the Year.
