Lake Winder is a 1,496-acre (6 km²) lake in Brevard County and a small portion lies in Osceola County. It is the only lake in the St. Johns River basin that doesn't support a marina. The nearest unincorporated settlement is Viera, Florida, 7.3 miles (11.7 km) to the east. It's the third largest lake in Brevard County. It is part of the St. Johns River system and governed by the St. Johns River Water Management District. The lake is accessible by boat from Lake Poinsett, 5 miles (8 km) downstream. Two canals make the way to Lake Winder, but do not cross the county line. About 2 miles (3 km) to the west is the nearby CR 419. Of all the 3 largest lakes in Brevard County, it is the only lake in the county that does not assosiate with viewing a sunset.
