The Tupou Dynasty of Tonga is the only remaining constitutional monarchy of Polynesia.
The following monarchs have reigned since the constitutional role of the Tongan monarchy was set forth in 1875, (see Line of succession to the Tongan Throne):
- King George Tupou I (1875-1893)
- King George Tupou II (1893-1918)
- Queen Salote Tupou III (1918-1965)
- King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV (1965-2006)
- King George Tupou V (2006-present)
