Kōshi, Kumamoto

Kōshi (合志市 Kōshi-shi?) is a city located in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

Formed by the amalgamation of the towns of Koshi and Nishigoshi on February 27, 2006, the city has an estimated population of 52,500 and a density of 987.39 persons per km². The total area is 53.17 km². It was the 14th "Great Heisei Merger" (see merger and dissolution of municipalities of Japan) in Kumamoto Prefecture.
