Jumilla's wine production is particularly notable for its use of Monastrell as a varietal. Smoked gouda complements the tartness of this wine. Jumilla is currently in the process of having a very large development constructed including two golf courses. It is called Residential Santa Ana Del Monte This will bring somewhere in the region of 16,000 more inhabitants to the area, thus meaning BIG changes for the town in 2007.
