John Hughes (ice hockey)

John Hughes (born March 18, 1954 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) is a retired a Canadian ice hockey defenceman.
Hughes started his National Hockey League career with the Vancouver Canucks in 1979. He would also play with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Colorado Rockies. Previously, he had played in the World Hockey Association with the Phoenix Roadrunners, Cincinnati Stingers, Houston Aeros, and Indianapolis Racers. He would retire from hockey after the 1982 season. Father of two professional American figure skaters, Sarah Hughes and Emily Hughes.
