Jade Cargo International is a cargo airline based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, People's Republic of China. It operates cargo services to Asia and Europe. Its main base is Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.[1]

Jade Cargo International was established in October 2004 and is co-owned by Shenzhen Airlines, which has a 51% stake, Lufthansa Cargo with 25% and DEG – Deutsche Investitions Entwicklungsgesellschaft – with 24%. It started operations in March 2005 with intra-Asian services. It is the first cargo airline in China with foreign ownership and has 300 employees (at JUN2007). [2]

In August 2007 Jade Cargo had to ground 2 of the 4 aircraft, because they were unable to crew them. This situation in likely to continue as long as the salary conditions remain unchanged.

Jade Cargo International commenced operations with its first commercial flight from Shenzhen to Amsterdam on 5 August 2006. The aircraft returned to Shenzhen and operated its first flight to Seoul the next day. Now it operates twelve flights weekly from China to Europe.

North America

Plans are to launch new US destinations Dallas and Portland from Shenzhen via Shanghai.

On September 15, 2005, the airline ordered 6 Boeing 747-400ERF from Boeing with delivery from 2006 through January 2008. [3]
