Ipil is a 1st class municipality in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines. It is the capital municipality of Zamboanga Sibugay. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 52,481 people in 10,293 households.

Physically, Ipil is located at the southern center of Zamboanga Peninsula, facing the Sibuguey (Sibugay) Bay. Ipil's two national highways, the Zamboanga-Pagadian Route and Zamboanga Dipolog Route, serve as the passage for Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur. Ipil will soon be the first city in the province because of the economic development.

Ipil is the center for education in Zamboanga Sibugay, it offers Nursing, Information Technology, Engineering, Law, Criminology, Commerce and Education. The most prominent schools are Marian College and Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Collages, both has secondary and primary program. Some known school are Marcelo Spinola School, Unibersidad de Zamboanga-Ipil, Medina College-Ipil, Western Mindanao State University-Ipil, Sibugay Technical Institute, Pagadian Technological and Marine Sciences and Zamboanga del Sur Technical Intitute Foundation.
