The Infante Afonso, Prince of Beira (Afonso de Santa Maria Miguel Gabriel Rafael de Bragança, Príncipe da Beira) is a Portuguese royal infante born 25 March 1996, first born child to Dom Duarte, Duke of Braganza, head of the Portuguese royal house, and to the Duchess, Dona Isabel de Herédia.
After his father, he is next in line to the titular Portuguese throne and is the future Duke of Braganza. He his also Duke of Barcelos. When he was born, Dom Afonso de Santa Maria was styled by his father HRH Prince of Beira, the Portuguese rank for the third in line to the throne. Dom Afonso was never styled Infante, although he is an infante in the broader meaning of the word.
