Based on the classic comic book by Mars Ravelo, Maruja is about a rich, young lady named Maruja Sevilla who lived hundreds of years ago during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines. Maruja is about to marry a rich business man but fell in love with a "bastard" named Gabriel instead. Gabriel showed Maruja things that she never knew that made her ultimately fall in love with him. But they both knew their love is not for that lifetime. After a tragic event, their souls swore that they will be together someday. And that someday is today! Different time, different names but the same story. Maruja's reincarnation is haunted by the past she has already forgotten. Will Maruja and Gabriel find each other's arms or will they be stuck as trapped souls forever?
