Great Lakes region (North America)

The Great Lakes states of the U.S. are colored red in this map.
The Great Lakes region includes much of the Canadian province of Ontario and eight U.S. states that border the Great Lakes. The entire Canadian Great Lakes shoreline is in Ontario.
In the United States, "Great Lakes" is often used to identify areas which share similarities with the Northeast and Midwest, but don't fully fit in with either.
