The Eton Group consists of the 13 most prestigious elite independent schools in the United Kingdom, who are well known and respected by the public and historically leading the league table of GCSEs and A-Levels to this date.

Heads of the academic departments meet annually in rotation to discuss curriculum matters of common interest. In 2005, the Office of Fair Trading concluded after a two year investigation that the Eton Group had operated as a fee-fixing cartel in breach of competition law. The bursar of Eton College, Andrew Wynn, was quoted as saying: “We do meet and talk about fees to get some idea of what other schools are thinking. We are a co-operative bunch and we are not out to slit each other’s throats.”[citation needed]

The Eton Group has links to the Rugby Group and the Haileybury Group of Independent schools.
