Douglas Romayne is a composer in Los Angeles who scores TV and film.
[edit] Buffyverse
Composer Douglas Romayne has scored 8 seasons of television in five years, plus 25 films, including features, documentaries, and some excellent short films by emerging directors. His big break was being asked by Joss Whedon to score the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He met Whedon while working for Chris Beck on the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" musical "Once More, with Feeling," on which he was the Assistant Music Director. Following scoring "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Romayne went on to score seasons four and five of "Angel" with composer Rob Kral. Other series Romayne has scored include Miracles for Touchstone TV/ABC/Greenwalt Productions "Day Break" for Touchstone TV/ABC and Duck Dodgers for Warner Bros. Animation. On Duck Dodgers the three-member scoring team (Robert J. Kral, Douglas Romayne and Zoran Boris) won the Annie Award For Outstanding Music in an Animated Television Series ( Rob Kral received award).
He released "Expressing the Inexpressible," a compilation of 8 film scores available at iTunes and CD BABY, where it is an editor's selection. Film Score Monthly's Steven A. Kennedy wrote, “...This album...is a fabulous demonstration of Romayne's ability to create melodic, large-sounding scores in many genres...This release is highly recommended for those interested in hearing a voice that we can only hope will move on to more high profile assignments..." and Mark Hasan of KQEK wrote, "It's hard to come out from under the shadow of a cult TV series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, but this compilation CD featuring selections from 8 scores by Douglas Romayne is both a superb promo for the composer's skillful writing, and an addictive album, particularly for film music fans wanting music with a rich, elegant orchestral sound...” For music, go to Romayne's Official Site
