[edit] Synopsis

Anjali (Shilpa Shetty) is in love with Dev (Sunil Shetty) but his poor status means that her father (Kiran Kumar) disapproves of her choice. He tells her to leave him and she goes with her parents wishes. She visits him for the last time, and he says to her that they will meet again soon. Anjali parents arrange for her to marry Ram (Akshay Kumar).

Anjali is unhappy in her new home as she is constantly bullied by her mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. She is not getting along with Ram because she is still in love with Dev. After a confrontation with all of them it is revealed that Ram's family is only after his fortune and slowly Anjali begins to fall in love with her husband.

At her third wedding anniversary she is introduced to a new person. To her shock she meets Dev who is now a wealthy and successful man. Dev, consumed by hatred for Ram, is out to destroy Anjali's marriage and he will do anything to make sure Anjali stays with him forever.

In the climax of the film Ram becomes bankrupt and moves out of his house with Anjali, which is bought by Dev. However, a lonely Dev soon realises that no matter what he does he will not win back Anjali, and, after handing the house back to Ram leaves India.
