[edit] Plot
Raj Goyal (Akshaye Khanna), a successful criminal lawyer, famous for never having lost a case, is introduced to a popular singer Sargam (Urmila Matondkar) by music magnate Ashwin Mehta (Vijayendra Ghatge). In the following day, Ashwin is murdered in Tarang Bharadwaj's (Ajay Devgan) house. Tarang is Sargam's childhood friend and current mentor, caught red-handed at the scene of Ashwin's murder. He claims he's innocent and Sargam, who believes in Tarang's innocence, approaches Raj to defend him, which he accepts instantly.
Raj finds out that Tarang suffers from split personality and wins Tarang's case by proving the same. But immediately after Tarang was acquitted, he gets to know that the split personality was an act put on by Tarang. Now Raj wants to put Tarang behind the bars. He wants to reopen the case.
Tarang is an obsessive lover, who will go to any extent to win Sargam. The story ends happily with good winning over evil
The movie is loosely based on the Hollywood flick Primal Fear starring Richard Gere in Akshay Khanna's role.
