From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Deepa Sahi is an Indian actress and producer. She is married to film director Ketan Mehta.
In her early career she collaborated with Govind Nihalani and made her debut with the 1984 film Party. Her second film with Nihalani was Aghaat in 1985. In 1986 she appeared in the highly acclaimed television film directed by Nihalani titled Tamas.
She then has acted in films directed by her husband including Hero Hiralal (1988), Maya Memsaab (1992) and Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India (1995). Maya Memsaab particularly was controversial at the time of its release when Deepa Sahi appeared in a nude sex scene for the film which was very rare in Indian films at that time.[1]
Her other notable films include Hum (1991) and Ek Doctor Ki Maut (1991). Her last film appearance was in Daughters of This Century (2001) and she has not appeared in any films since.
Recently she was the co-producer of her husband's film Mangal Pandey: The Rising. She also wrote the screenplay for Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India.
